Simple Journal Cover

I just wanted to quickly share with you the journal I created from just a plain black sketchbook. This journal's a special one, so I wanted it to look nice but not too fussy as it gets a lot of use.

First I wanted the journal to be more nice to hold, so I hot glued some bamboo quilting filler to the front cover. I the took a piece of the Stampin' Up! fabric from the soon to retire Deck the Halls Collection, and covered the front and back using one piece, again attaching with the hot glue gun :-)

I then added some nice SU ribbon and lace so I can tie the journal shut from nosey eyes ;-). Finally I added a chipboard Kaisercraft piece to the front.

On the inside covers I glued some of my fav Kaisercraft patterned paper from the Bonjour Collection.

I'm entering this over at Unruly Paper Arts Reader Quest 1, where we're asked to show our journal creation :-)

Have a great week.
