Valentine card

A valentine card with a graphic clean feel - I actually love how this card has turned out. Using again some of my new Unity stamps- smile background with sponging Distress inks, stencils and a spritz of smooch.

The photo isn't great- the light is poor in the morning at my house- til the sun comes around- and its going to be another scorcher of a day- we are currently having a heart wave here :-)

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

The Card Concept - Clean and graphic ( I think- guess could be mixed media stye too ) - inspired by the hearts.

Moo Mania- Hearts

Have a great read of the week everyone.

From the Heart

It's great to come back to the blogging world, and not only find my old favs are still creating and setting challenges but also some new challenges and blog too.
I'm enjoying catching up.

Here's a new challenge to me- The Card Concept  their's is a pretty cool challenge - with inspiration of all different card styles and an inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the Heart and the red and the white- I've gone for the Mixed Media theme-
Here's the inspiration photo.

The background created with Distress inks, stamping, acrylic gold paint and some glitter.
The heart was created n the same way, but with Mod Podge added to give it more texture. I also added the resin butterfly and bling, for extra texture.

I also used the latest Mojo Monday Sketch- #429, as I'm still finding my feet again.

I'm pretty happy with how this early Valentine's card has turned out- never too early for love.

I really enjoyed getting inky and combining these 2 challenges x

Wings of Love Tag

Finally, got chance today to finish Tim's February Tag, I'm not entirely happy with the outcome of this tag. I had to improvise heaps for this months tag, but I do like the watercolour paper effect and the raising of some of the angel's wings. I had no Kraft Core cardstock, so I embossed and sanded some gold paper I had, I then "coloured" the sanded area with pastels, I do like how that's worked. I love the tissue tape ribbon too- such a fab idea.

As always there are some stunning tags over on Tim's blog so make sure you have a peep.

My Honey Valentine

I love these bears from the Getting Grizzly Stamp Plate from Rogue Redhead Designs.

I think this bear is perfect for a Valentine's card- so that's what I've made. I have stamped the bear on Kraft and then coloured him using my Prismacolor pencils. I then gave him a heart to hold, which I just popped up onto a foam dimensional. I've also used one of the sentiments from the set.
I love how it's turned out as a more masculine Valentine card.

Valentine Case Study

Well this is my third and last post for today, gotta love the holidays combined with a creative burst :-)

I can't remember the last time I played along at Case Study, but today's the day. There's some real pretty Valentine inspiration from the current muse Amerber Kemp-Gerstel and the rest of the Team.
This is my take on her pretty heart card.

Have a great monday.

Valentines at Craft Room

It's our first challenge of 2013 over at Craft room challenge, and it's time for Valentine's. The talented  Nikki's chosen our first theme, please make sure you check out all the DT stunning work.

For my card, I've gone back to an old style of card I used to make- sponging and collaging my own stamps. Feels like ages since I made a card like this :-) I've used a Stampin' Up set Affection Collection to create the background on the card stock layers. I sponged using Victorian Velvet and stamped some images with that ink and some with Tea Dye. My main image is from Gecko Galz.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Individuals, they have a cool new website and some great new stamp sets available so make sure you check them out.

I look forward to seeing your creations.

I'm entering my card over at Simon says Stamp and Show- where the theme is Embrace the Old. My card is vintage style made in my old style which it's been ages since I created like this :-)
