Dance With The Moon

I had a spare 40 minutes before picking the kids up from the bus, and I really wanted to play along at Simon says Stamp and Show this week as it's All Girly :-)

I've cut an ATC out of chipboard, covered in tissue tape then covered in Picket Fence, then added various inks, sprays and stamped the frame and silhouette. I then added the cute girl chatting to the moon image.  To finish I added embossing powder, micro beads, pearls and a layer of Beeswax.

I love the texture that the mixing of the beeswax and embossing powder produces.

I'm also entering this little inky ATC over at Fashionable stamping challenges where they what us getting inky.

Buttons and Bows

It's new challenge time at Craft Room Challenge, thanks for sharing all your sporty crafty pieces, there were some fun entries in our last challenge. For this fortnight I'm the lucky hostess and I've chosen Buttons and Bows.  I'm hoping you get inspired in lots of different ways. My fellow DT members have produced some gorgeous pretty things.

Here's mine: I've made a shabby chic card, with a Friendly Plastic button that I made my heating up 2 colours and running a toothpick over them like you would icing on a cake. Then popped through the Big Shot with a circle die. Punched some small holes and Volia! a button.

I've collaged my own background by stamping and sponging, and randomly added some embossing powder.

Have you guessed our sponsor yet?? yep that's right Liz from Rarebird has given us another cool prize for one lucky winner.

Relishing Twinchies

I Love twinchies!!! for all their size I love how you can actually get heaps of detail on them. For these twinchies I've used the Relish Reading  set at Rogue Redhead Designs.

Twinchies are 2 x 2 inches in size and usually have a sturdy base like chipboard, you then add whatever you fancy.

I started with my chipboard base and then added tissue tape. I then added some inks, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, stamped my chosen images from the Relish Reading set then embossed.

I'm going to enter these over at Simon Says Stamp and Show No Rules Challenge.

Have a great weekend everyone, sadly I'll be working, but I'll catch up with you all next week.

Distressed Greens

It's the start of the new Rogue Redhead Designs Challenge,  Distressed Green is the theme :-)

I've used my new set Snow Hugs, which is currently on sale at RRD. I embossed the image onto watercolour paper, and the coloured the image with watercolours, and distressed the edges by tearing and rolling. I stamped the background with green  fir branches and snowflakes. I then added some green glitter cardstock and distressed the green cardstock, I added some twine and glitter snowflakes and my first christmas card is finished.

It's currently still winter her in New Zealand, but we've had it pretty mild so far with heaps of stunning blue skys sunny days.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Vintage Venice

Anyone who pops into my blog from time to time will know I have a Thing for Venice..... Sooooo how could I resist making a Venice card with one of the posters from the Gecko Galz Vintage Travel Collage sheet?

I've stamped, embossed on the 2 cardstock layers using Darkroom Door Venice Collection stamps, using copper and Sepia tones. I then added some glitter to the image and coloured some seam binding.

I'm entering my card over at Simon Says Stamp and Show Layers Challenge.

Vintage India

This is my first post as a Gecko Galz Design Team member :-) I've created a trio of cards with the theme of vintage travel, using the newly available Vintage Travel Collage sheets.

To create the card, I've embossed in gold directly onto the card stock, to create the background I've stamped and gold embossed in various colours and then sponged. I've added some trim from Granny's Stash and mounted the India Vintage Travel poster onto to Glitter card stock.

Details: All Cardstock, inks and stamps are Stampin' Up! The Vintage Travel collage sheets are available from Gecko Galz.

I will be posting the next 2 cards from my trio over the next week.

See you Then

A Red Bear Day

Here's  another card I created with the new Rogue Red Head Designs Getting Grizzly Plate. I wanted to give the bear a PopArt feel, and I don't usually use such bright colours together but loved how it all came together.

I first black embossed with the honeycomb background stamp and then sprayed some ink. I then embossed the bear and painted him in glittery red.

I've used the sketch from the Tilt It Baby Challenge, which is still Open for another 8 days.

July Tag

Finally, today I had chance to join in Tim's 12 Tags of 2012. As soon as I saw his post this afternoon I wanted to get inky :-) If you haven't already you should really check his tag out.

What fun this technique is, as usual I had to improvise, as I didn't have all the stash, but I just Love how the tags turned out.

I didn't want to create a 4th July tag as in New Zealand we don't celebrate this day, but this technique is so adaptable. I've created this graffiti feel tag. My eldest 2 kids are already laying claim to it :-)

I didn't have a blowy thingy (lol)  so just blew like mad and tipped the card around. I then wanted the heart a bit redder so painted it in, and a little on the banner to add a bit more definition.  I also heated the ink a bit which gave it real depth and texture in places.

It's the first day of the winter school holidays today, and the kids are all still happy, I'm hoping to get some serious crafting time in over the day or so, so watch out there's heaps of posts on the way!

Have a great week and school hols.
